3-year practitioner training
Shiatsu is a Japanese massage based on the same principles as acupuncture. The training involves studying:
- Western anatomy, physiology and pathology
- Traditional Chinese medicine theory and pathology
- how to work the 12 meridians in different positions: sitting, supine, prone and side.
- location and function of acupuncture points
- how to use your body weight to perform non-invasive pressure
- Qi gong
